What does the uvula do for you? can you live in need it?

What does the uvula do for you? can you live in need it?
The uvula has a role both surrounded by the production of some sounds, and to prevent food from going up the nose during swallowing.
It also produces life-size amounts of saliva that keeps our upper digestive duct moist.
Also it's be suggested that the tissues that form the uvula have immunologic hobby.
Yes, we can live without it. Its removal can create throat dryness, but apparently doesn't affect speech or swallowing (although there's a lot of disagreement just about this among different sources).

If you're interested, here's a link to a solid article that reviews past hypotheses and current wisdom about this structure (only the abstract is available free, but I can provide the full article):

Not exactly sure what it does but I know that some population with extreme snoring hold it amputated. That sounds pretty extreme to me.
It is believed to play a role in immune system responses. Also, it plays a role contained by speech.
It helps surrounded by the prevention of chocking
It keeps the skin down contained by the back of your throat Between mouth and trunk
It helps nouns resonate better when you use your voice and it also keeps you from choking, as do your tonsils by keeping put money on small particles of food that are not pretty ready to step to your digestive tract.
If you think the uvula is fun, you should read in the order of the epiglottis ;)
