What is Bactrim prescribed for?

What is Bactrim prescribed for?
It's an antibiotic that could basically be used to treat any type of bacterial infection. However, it's most repeatedly prescribed for bacterial infections of the urinary tract (ie: kidney infections, urintary tract inefctions or bladder infections).
Its an antibiotic.
Most mild bacterial infection.
It is prescribed for urinary tract infections, ear infections, and sometimes used to treat cases of Bronchitis (severe). Also it is used to treat Pneumonia, and for the prevention of Pneumonia.
I've been prescribed it for Urinary track infections. But close to most antibiotics, it can diminish the effectiveness of birth control
it be prescribed for a urinary tract infection for my 5 year old ... not sure what adjectives it's used for..
